Wendy Law is not only a cellist of the highest order, but is also a strikingly original and entrepreneurial artist. As soloist, she has played with leading orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Singapore Symphony, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Russian Philharmonic, and Juilliard Orchestra. Ms. Law has performed throughout North America, appearing in such venues as Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the J.F. Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C. and Jordan Hall, Boston. An active chamber musician, she has collaborated with the Borromeo String Quartet, Yo-Yo Ma and Pamela Frank among others.
As founder and director of Classical Jam, Wendy has overseen the development of the ensemble’s innovative concerts and projects. Classical Jam presents engaging, lively, high-caliber performances to diverse audiences. Classical Jam’s wide-ranging repertoire includes traditional classical works, improvisations, world music, commissioned new works, and original compositions. The ensemble works with presenters to craft concerts that include the community-at-large and engages audience members in unique ways.
